Do you have that grandpa that you always get nervous to bring friends around, cause he might say something totally backwards and crazy and maybe a little racist or homophobic?I think we all have someone like that in the family… they provide a much needed jolt of excitement in those boring family dinners when they says things like, “The MEX-EE-CANS ARE STEALIN’ OUR JOBS!”

Anyway, it’s the senile old grandpa that you except to say things that come out of the blue and are totally stereotypical and mean, not a world-renowned journal of medicine. But that’s what happened this past week, when Psychology Today published an article titled “Why Are Black Women Rated Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women, But Black Men Are Rated Better Looking Than Other Men?”

Yep. That’s the name of a scientific article. The article, written by Satoshi Kanazawa, has since been removed from the magazine. Its main purpose was to “prove,” using indiscriminate  graphs, that “black women are significantly less physically attractive than women of other races,” which she says is likely attributed to black women having more testosterone than other races.  She goes on to claim that although black women are rated less attractive across the board, they (as well as black men) rate themselves to be much more attractive than the other races. SO BASICALLY what she is implying is that black women are UGLY, MANNISH, AND ARROGANT.
