Women Are More Likely to Have Casual Sex After Pubic Hair Removal
In #NoShitSherlock news, a recent study has shown that women who have just waxed or shaved their LADY PARTS are more likely to engage in casual sex. SHOCKING, RIGHT? I KNOW. I’LL GIVE YOU A MINUTE TO REGISTER EVERYTHING AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND RETURN TO HOMEOSTASIS.
Are you okay? Ready to move on? Alright.
Sexuality researcher Debra Herbenick wanted to learn about how women’s grooming habits correlated with their sexuality, so she gathered 2,453 women of various ages and had them keep a 5 week online journal documenting both their pubic hair maintenance and their sexual escapades. Interestingly enough, almost 43% of women said they didn’t shave or wax at all during the 5 weeks, which leads us to believe that maybe going au natural is gaining popularity again – perhaps we’re on our way back to the 70s, when ladies were almost as hairy as dudes (please God don’t let that happen).
Less interesting was the pretty “DUH” news that women who have just shaved or waxed are more likely to engage in casual sex, are more interested in sex in general, and have vaginal intercourse for longer. Of course, we feel like it’s a pretty obvious finding – women who are about to hit the town looking to get laid are probably gonna do a little more nether-lands clean up than a woman whose Friday plans include 8 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and a sleeve of Oreos. On the other hand, we want to at least get SOME education from the study, so… let’s think. What did we learn?
OOH! I KNOW.
Dudes- new pick up technique for 2013! Hang out near a waxing salon nearby. Have a coffee or a newspaper or something so you don’t look like a creep. When a lady of interest walks out of the salon, bump into her gently (maybe spill a teeny bit on her jeans if you’re adventurous? I don’t know… that could backfire), and with your most suave moves, apologize profusely and offer to take her for a drink to make up for your silly mistake. Be sweet and apologetic, and with enough luck you’ll be enjoying that freshly manicured lawn by night’s end!
