Top 5 Reasons For Singles To Get Fit This Month
Like I said this morning, with the help of a perfectly coiffed and not-plastic-faced Bruce Jenner, this coming month will be BCU’s Official Month of Getting Fit: eating healthier and working out, cutting out bad habits and learning smarter ones!
You might be thinking, but getting healthy is boring and hard and awwwwwwful! and would be happier just having fun and eating and doing as you please (I know I think that sometimes). So we decided to gather our top 5 reasons why getting fit is the BEST thing a single person can do for their lives. Read these, and really think about them, and then maybe consider picking up a granola bar instead of a Ding Dong at the gas station tomorrow morning.
1. You’ll feel more confident, have more energy, and be happier
The most obvious result of getting healthier is in the mirror. Your clothes fit better, you feel better naked (wink wink), and you actually don’t hate all pictures taken of you. But the internal results of eating healthy and working out are great too! A morning workout might mean you don’t need that 2pm cup of coffee, and a breakfast of fruit and oatmeal with nuts will make your brain work better than, say, a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a Sunny-D. All that grogginess you just thought was your old body shutting down could actually be eliminated by training that old body back up!
2. It’s a CHEAP (or even free!) way to spend your time
We talked last week about how being single can be an expensive lifestyle. However, getting super sexy and buff can be the cheapest way to spend your time! Sure, you could join an expensive gym or hire a personal trainer, but if that’s not in the budget, running or walking after work or purchasing a set of free-weights for your house is a wallet-friendly way to get your body in summertime-shape before the bathing suits come out.
3. Summer is a’comin!
Like I just said – Summer. Bathing suits. Pool parties. Beach excursions. Trips to the lake. HOT ASS WEATHER. Shorts. Picture all of this in your CURRENT body-shape might sound terrible, but with four weeks of hard work you’ll be the most confident one in the group. You can King-of-the-World on the front of a boat in just a Speedo and feel GREAT ABOUT IT. (Well, maybe not the Speedo part)
4. You’ll live better, longer
Keep on tossing doughnuts and soda in your belly and you could be cutting off years of your life. Sure, you might not keel over at 40, but you’ll start feeling crappy pretty close to that. And being overweight, guys, can lead to early erectile dysfunction. WE DON’T WANT THAT, NOW DO WE?
5. YOU’LL GET MORE BOOTY, DUH
And here we are. Yes, you’ll look and feel more confident. You’ll live longer. You’ll be happier and have more energy. But what’s our favorite reason to get fit this month? B-O-O-T-Y, of course! All of the previous advantages help you, as a single-ready-to-mingle, GET LAID! It’s no surprise that we are more attracted to healthier, more attractive people, so why wouldn’t you try to be one of those healthier, more attractive singles? Plus – being stronger and more fit means a more satisfying sex life. So toss out those Lays and grab some carrot sticks… let’s get on the fitness train to Bootyville!
