TheCasualSexProject.com Lets Singles Share Their Stories
Woo hoo! Short weeks are so awesome – Friday just sped right up on us, and with it some awesome news about a new website that seems like a perfect match for OBC: TheCasualSexProject.com!
Via NY Daily News:
Sex researcher and NYU adjunct psychology professor Zhana Vrangalova began the blog about a month and a half ago as a way for people to talk openly about their sexual experiences with nonlong-term partners.
“We have so little first-person information on what casual sex looks like,” she told the Daily News. “There’s very little information about what it’s like to have these experiences, and what people really do, and how they feel about them. I wanted to provide that space.”
In order to get published on the site, participants send in their stories, and Dr. Vrangalova cleans up the grammar and — (if they didn’t submit one themselves — adds a fun photo. Then they’re up to be read – so others can understand that it’s not just horny perverts that take part in casual hook ups. Dr. Vrangalova notes, also, that there is research to suggest that enjoying non-committal sex can actually BOOST self-esteem… so her site could be helping singles realize that booty calls, friends with benefits, and other experimental (but safe) sex experiences can be liberating!
Awesome idea, Doctor! We’re so glad that someone (especially someone with a legitimate background in sex research) took the opportunity to make a safe space for people to share their experiences without being judged or looked down upon for enjoying sex as “purely recreational [and] fun.” At OBC we provide a venue for singles to meet each other for casual dates and hooking up, and totally recommend our users share their most fun and sexy stories at TheCasualSexProject (hopefully with a shout out to your friends over here, of course!).
And hey – all you adventurous folks at TCSP – you’re always welcome at OBC… come on over and start an account this weekend. You could have a new story by Monday!
