Weekend To-Dos: SUMMER’S OVER
We didn’t get a chance to dictate your weekend last week because the BCU staff got a miraculous 4 days off for the holiday. It’s okay to be jealous, we won’t judge. Needless to say, this sad two day weekend is going to be a smack in the face, but we’ve still got a few things you should definitely get down on in this first post-Labor Day weekend.
1) Indoor Rock Climbing
Exercising the same way every day can get tedious, boring, and totally unappealing. By switching it up every once in a while you turn exercising into an enjoyable activity that you actually look forward to. However, as the weather starts to cool down and it gets darker earlier, finding fun adventurous ways to keep in shape can be a little more difficult. Indoor rock climbing is one way to bring the outdoors in and get Greek god-like arms, back, and legs. Here, you can find a huge list of rock climbing gyms all over the world, so there is no excuse not to get your climb on this weekend.
2) Send a letter in a personalized envelope
These days our mailboxes should just be renamed Tree-Killing Junk and Bill Holes, because they only thing we expect in them are, well, junk and bills. How would you feel if you opened your mail box and found a letter from another human being? Surprised, maybe? Suspicious that you were being watched by some Big Brother-like corporation? Well, either way, sending a letter to an out of town friend could be just the little perk they need to brighten up their week. And with these cool new Map Envelopes which let you print out personalized envelopes with your Google maps location and a personalized message, you can make some special person feel very important. Even if that special person is your grandma. Which is probably will be.
* Fun idea: send someone you hate an personalized Map Envelope of where they live, along with the message, “I know where you live and I watch you jerk off.” Just kidding. Don’t do that. (Or do.)
3) Football. Duh.
I just spent the last twenty minutes of this morning asking the BCU staff what their pick would be for the most exciting to watch on Sunday. Bad idea. Arguments ensued, punches were thrown, and now I’m here with still no idea of what’s going to be the best game of the weekend, so I’ll just say “A WHOLE BUNCH OF EM!” Colts versus Texans should be good (Indy always starts slow and the Texans want this one, BAD), Bengals vs Patriots will be enjoyable (Tom “$75 f—ing million are you kidding me” Brady vs Tweedle Dee and Dum) and of course the deep-seated rivalry of the Cowboys and the Redskins, which when you say out loud sounds like the debilitating racism of the 1800s, but if you get past that should be an awesome, awesome game.
Look at me pretending to know what the hell I’m talking about! Fancy!
