The Black and Bleu Sandwich Inspired by Rihanna
I wish it didn’t look so tasty.
Like a Snooki sex doll and hiding things in your vagina, chalk this one up on the BAD IDEA board.
An Atlanta restaurant called Chops and Hops has just pulled a sandwich from their menu that was “inspired” by the abuse riddled relationship of Chris Brown and Rihanna. According to BuzzFeed, the description of this sandwich was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page before uproar caused the owners to retreat:
“@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for a award winning celebrity sandwich. Put your hands on this caribbean black and bleu sandwich. Caribbean spiced marinated sliced ribeye blackened then look out for the bleu cheese, sliced tomato, silver Lamborghini onions, and shredded romaine. Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A.”
YIIIIIIKES. To be fair, if the restaurant’s sole intention with this move was to garner publicity (bad press is still press, technically), their plan worked – the news is all over the internet, after all, and I’m pretty sure no one had really heard of Chops and Hops outside of Atlanta before today. On the other hand, domestic abuse advocates will likely call for a boycott of the restaurant which could make this PR stunt backfire. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Are we offended? We thought we were, but as one BuzzFeeder so aptly pointed out, “I assume the intention is that, after you’ve had it once, even if it was bad, you’ll go back for more.” Wise words!
