St. Patrick’s Day Dos and Don’ts
Happy St Patricks Day! It’s on a Friday? Yes please. Time to get out there and celebrate on the day that sees a 174% increase in beer sales compared to the rest of the year. Here are some tips from OBC to make the most of the day, without going down too hard tomorrow.
1) DO Eat, laddie, EAT!
No, one Egg McMuffin isn’t enough. Plan on eating a lot if you expect to make it past noon. Did you know that along with Irish alcohol there is Irish food? Me neither, and that’s probably because it all sounds disgusting: Corned Beef and Cabbage, boiled potatoes, and according to Wikipedia, “boxty, coddle, and colcannon,” which one astute OBC staffer said “sounds like a gross sexual position.”
2) DON’T Drive Drunk
Seriously.
3) DO Think ahead
Get a good night’s rest before, chug some coffee in the AM, and safety pin a Ziploc of Ibuprofen and Tums to your shirt, kindergarten style. This is a big day, team, I don’t need to falling behind. Erin Go Bragh!
4) DON’T Stray from Irish beverages
Somewhere after your twelfth car-bomb, your liquor-addled brain might start telling you that tequila shots would be awesome right now. It’s wrong. Don’t listen. Your stomach will be pissed off tomorrow, and remember, just because it’s a holiday, the hangover does not discriminate.
5) DO Get Lucky!
Don’t forget to log into OBC on your PC, or to the new OBC Dating app for iOS and Android, to meet local singles up for a brew and a bang!
