Raiders Quarterback Gets Cold Feet HOURS Before the Wedding
Thank God he doesn’t play football with this kind of hesitation: according to the Daily Mail, Oakland Radiers quarterback Jason Campbell was just hours away from getting married in the Dominican Republic when he got cold feet and called off the wedding, despite their wedding party and guests already attending the pre-wedding reception.
According to Campbell, he DIDN’T leave his soon-to-be wife, nightclub hostess Jenny Montes, at the alter. ‘I love her enough not to leave her at the altar,’ he told The Washington Post. ‘I love her enough to talk to her before it gets that far.’ Hmm. I suppose that TECHNICALLY, he is right. He didn’t leave her at the alter, he left her at the sandy gazebo in the Dominican Republic. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Although we’re probably a bit more “anti-marriage” then most, even we’d have to say it’s gauche to call off a wedding that late. If Campbell really “loved her enough to talk to her,” you think he’d do it over dinner a few months earlier before thousands of dollars in deposits and plane flights were made, and family members and friends flew all the way to ANOTHER COUNTRY.
Although the guests say they decided just to “make a vacation” out of the botched wedding, we bet there was some money exchanging hands from the NFLer to those who made the trip. What do you think? Was Campbell smart to call it off when he did? At least he didn’t say “I do,” right?
