Note: We have a series of Coachella-related tips comin’ at ya every afternoon this week, so stay tuned for the first of those in a little bit, but before we get to that, we just had to share the biggest shock of the weekend.

While many (re: most) of the Phoenix crowd at Coachella on Saturday night admits they were waiting with bated breath for an appearance by Daft Punk, the mysterious robot crew did not show up and entrance everyone with a 45 minute mash up of One More Time, Digital Love, and Harder Better. People were sad.

But then!

From out of the brush, came another guest star to perform with Phoenix, and it was none other than… R. Kelly?

That’s right, the 90s R & B legend, who might be most famous for allegedly peeing on an underage girl, showed up to perform Ignition remixed with Phoenix’s popular single 1901. While many fans were confused, disappointed, and like, seriously confused because R. KELLY????, the collaboration ended up pretty damn awesome. Check it out:
