No Strings Attached vs Friends with Benefits
On Ashton Kutcher’s new podcast Our Future Selves, in which he interviews AND works out with guests on Peleton equipment (#sponcon?), he recently spoke to his former costar Natalie Portman about their movie No Strings Attached, and discussed how strange it was that at the exact same time his future wife, MilA Kunis was filming a movie with Justin Timberlake that had the exact.same.premise. Remember Friends with Benefits?

He chatted with Natalie about the similar projects during the latest episode of his series Our Future Selves – where he does a joint workout on a Peloton with a guest.
Both films were released in 2011 and have the same premise of friends turning into lovers, eventually forming a relationship.
During the episode with Natalie for Our Future Selves, Ashton said to her: ‘I think the first time we really hung out is when we shot No Strings together.’
‘Yes. Who would have thought 20 years later we’d be on a Peloton together….’ she said as they jogged.
‘It’s also weird because my wife was shooting basically the same movie called Friends With Benefits,’ Ashton said.
‘Yes and Mila and I had just shot Black Swan together right before so we were all making out with each other,’ Natalie added.
Both movies have the same premise, where strangers become friends, who turn into lovers within a casual relationship.
Both films, the friends with benefits eventually end their relationships before getting back together for a real committed relationship.
So, whose movie was better, Mila or Ashton’s? Full disclosure, we’ve never seen the movies, but according to Rotten Tomatoes, FWB is the winner with a 68% score vs NSA’s 48%.
