Every year we make resolutions. Sometimes they are about our health or our work life, or pledging to do more advocacy or non-profit work. Over here at OBC, along with those important goals, our resolution is one big life-encompassing goal: to enjoy the single life! Of course, that doesn’t just mean to go out and get laid at every opportunity (although that’s part of it), so here were going to share our OBC New Years Single Life Resolutions – and maybe you’ll want to use a few of em yourself! This year, it’s an especially great time to set some intentions and resolutions as we cruise into 2023!

1. Expand our horizons

This year we vow to try new things – whether it’s picking up a new hobby of rock-climbing or hooking up with someone who might not normally be our “type”. In a world with endless opportunities and nearly 7 billion people, it’s lame to pigeon-hole yourself. Maybe you’re better at painting than you thought, and maybe you DO like redheads. WHO KNOWS UNLESS YOU TRY?

2. Embrace the alone time

Although we enjoy the single life because it means more freedom and tons more time to spend with friends, it’s important to enjoy the alone time too! People in long-term relationships often don’t have as much time to themselves, so this year we plan to embrace and make the most of time spent solo. Read a book! Go on a hike! Volunteer!

3. Appreciate those around us

While we might not have a “significant other” to work on pleasing, we want to make sure this year is spent enjoying all the people in our lives, whether they are long-lost friends, family members, or even passing strangers. Exuding positive energy through a “good morning” to a neighbor, a phone call to a friend, or a big hug to a family member is a great way to improve your own self-image. And better self-image = more confidence = more attractive. SO MANY BENEFITS.

4. Do something each day to better Number One.

We want to forge important relationships this year (see #2), but we also want to spend time improving ourselves. Working out more, meditating, eating well, reading, ditching bad habits like drinking too much or smoking are all great uses of time. Improving ourselves (physically, emotionally, and mentally) is the name of the game!

5. Get more booty
