Mimi Faust is the star of a VH1 show called Love and Hip Hop, but early this week she got a burst of fame when a sex tape starring her boyfriend Nikko Smith and herself went public by celeb sex-tape hawker Vivid Entertainment. Post-release, Mimi says she is “good” and “all is well” and life is “wonderful,” leading us to believe that the tape may not have been stolen but might actually be a Farrah Abraham situation, albeit this time without a porn star at the helm.

According to TMZ, though, there has been an interesting effect happening all over the country, and we have the Mimi/Nikko sex tape to thank: hardware stores nationwide have been selling out of SHOWER CURTAIN RODS.

Apparently, the video features a particularly gymnastic scene where Mimi grasps a shower curtain rod for balance, but most average peoples’ flimsy tension rods wouldn’t be able to withstand the pressure – so they’ve been heading out to home improvement giant store Home Depot to upgrade. Via TMZ:

We called employees at each of the major retailers (from Georgia to Cali) and we’re getting the same story — ever since the trailer for Mimi’s sex tape came out, people have been racing to purchase their own super-strong shower rods to recreate the Mimi experience.

We gotta give a shout out to Mimi and Nikko for inspiring others to get out there and try some sexy new moves in the bedroom (or bathroom, though that sounds gross out of context). Maybe Home Depot will give them their own line of curtain rods? Hello? I’ll take my ten percent now thanks.
