Men Fake Orgasms, Women Get Off With Their Thoughts: New Sex Research
We all know the ladies occasionally fake orgasms. It doesn’t mean they aren’t ENJOYING the sexin’, it just means that the Big O isn’t gonna happen, and they’re just kinda ready for the whole event to be done with. However, new research shows that the dudes have been pulling the ol’ porn star moan and roll over too! A survey of 1,000 provided some interesting insight on the art of faking ecstasy.
Via NBC News:
““Men tend to fake for similar reasons that women fake: to help their partner’s ego, to not hurt their partner’s feelings, to end sex so that they can go to sleep or go home,” said Debby Herbenick, co-director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University.”
Interestingly, divorced dudes are 67% more likely to fake an orgasm, although 22% of single guys have admitted to acting in bed (reason #10,966 not to get married: you’ll start faking orgasms?).
On the brighter side, the study also showed that some women are able to make themselves climax just by THINKING sexy thoughts.
From Jezebel;
In 1948, Alfred C. Kinsey of Indiana University and his colleagues published “Sexual Behavior in the Human Male.” That groundbreaking study looked at thousands of cases but noted only two in which men “could reach climax by deliberate concentration of thought on erotic situations.”
But the team’s follow-up report on women, published in 1953, surveyed 2,727 women, and the researchers found that 2 percent of the interviewees — 54 women — reported an ability to reach orgasm by “fantasy alone.”
Sexy! Although it is interesting that men are faking orgasms and women are doing it to themselves. Maybe this all means we need to be more in tune with each others needs and desires?
