Man Dies From Playing XBox
I’m sorry, I should restate that – man dies from being completely sedentary and playing video games for 12 hours a day for years on end. According to this report by the BBC, Chris Staniforth, 20, died due to a condition called Deep Vein Thrombosis, which is usually caused by sitting for extremely long periods of time, causing a blood clot in the leg which eventually reaches the heart, causes a pulmonary embolism, and kills you.
Sad as it is, it’s a wake-up call to all the men (and women) who sit for hours a day playing video games, only ever getting up to use the bathroom or get food (my younger brother’s summer vacation comes to mind). Although we tend to use words like “lazy” and “fatass” and “nerd that I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole with a condom on it), the truth is much more grim for these so-called “avid gamers.”
Just another reason to get up from the couch or computer chair and go like, kick a ball or ride a bike or something. Don’t die of being an overweight Halo addict! DON’T DO IT!
