This weekend, Nina Davuluri of New York was crowned the winner the 2014 Miss America Pageant. As the first Miss America of Indian descent and a practicing Hindu, she was hailed on Twitter as a step forward for equality in America. Well, for the most part:

Yep, you read right. Some people were REALLY upset that an “Arab” “foreigner” was crowned Miss America. Even though she was born in MISSOURI. Oh, but it gets better:

Sometimes I think people should have to take an IQ test to have a Twitter account. Or reproduce. But maybe they’re just SUPER patriotic. What do you think? Is it racist?
