Is Aaron Hernandez a Murderer?
Former Patriots tight-end Aaron Hernandez is in some reeeeeeal trubbs today after allegations arose that he murdered 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional footballer whose girlfriend was sister to Hernandez’ own girlfriend (got all that?). According to the NBC News, Hernandez has been formally charged today with the murder of his former friend, which occurred last week, due to evidence that he not only was seen in surveillance footage bringing a gun into his basement the night of the murder, but also that he deleted “6-8 hours” of the same footage during the exact hours that Lloyd is reported to have been killed.
Why would a successful NFL player murder someone? Via Deadspin:
“According to a third party, Hernandez was angry with Lloyd for talking to a group of people at a nightclub on the previous Friday, a group that Hernandez apparently had beef with. The prosecutor said authorities have tape of Hernandez, with a firearm, saying “You can’t trust anyone anymore” before driving to pick up Lloyd.
The group stopped at a gas station to pick up “blue cotton candy Bubblicious gum and Black & Mild cigars, which are used as rolling papers for marijuana.”
When the three — minus Lloyd — returned to Hernandez’s house, surveillance cameras showed someone carrying a gun into his house, down to the basement, and that’s when cameras were shut off.”
Yikes. Looks like it’s going to be a pretty easy case, if they can scrounge up some witnesses. Why would he delete the footage? Why he NOT delete the part where the gun was delivered? AND WHO CHEWS BLUE COTTON CANDY BUBBLE GUM AFTER THE AGE OF SIX? None of this makes sense.
