Inmate Admits to Shooting Tupac
So, I wonder if this will finally put a stop to the rumors that Tupac is on the moon or in a pyramid or in New Zealand – according to The Huffington Post, Dexter Isaac, an inmate and longtime associate of James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemund, released a statement from prison claiming that he was in fact responsible for the robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur back in 1994 that set off a feud which ended the rapper’s life in a second shooting in 1996.
“In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac Shakur at the Quad Studio. He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Synthia Ried. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery. I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” Isaac said from prison. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie’s] mothers some closure.”
This all rings familiar for many of Tupac’s friends, as his protege, E.D.I. Mean pointed to a song of Shakur’s which references Rosemund: “And did I mention promise to pay back Jimmy Henchman in due time/ I know you bitch n—as is listenin’, the world is mine/ Set me up, wet me up, n—as stuck me up/ Heard the guns bust, but you tricks never shut me up.”
So, does this once and for all shut down the rumors that Tupac is alive somewhere, drinking tea and eating biscuits with Biggie while laughing at Kanye’s awful singing skills? Maybe not. But many believe that this will give closure to those closest to the rapper, knowing that someone who tried to kill their friend is behind bars for life.
