I Wish Sex Ed Had Told Me…
If I have one memory of my experience in high school sex ed, it was watching a video of a baby exiting the birth canal. The image is seared into my head, along with the insistence that essentially, there are 100 ways to get pregnant and only one way not to: abstinence.
All in all, we can all agree that American sex ed leaves a lot of be desired – but what specifically do you wish was included? Some folks over on Reddit shared the items they wish they’d been taught that would make their adult sexual experiences much better. Check them out below… which ones do you think should be learned in Mr. Campos’ 6th period health class?
“What discharge is. It literally happens every day, why did they not tell me?”
“Sex is not as clean as it looks on TV.”
“Anything about gay sex. At least when I was a teen. Half of the stuff they talked about had no relevance to me at all.”
“That you should pee after sex.”
“I wish they would teach people that the vagina does not smell like cake, or flowers, or fruit. Just vagina and that’s ok.”
“I did not know a vagina had two holes in the front, nor did I learn what it looks like or how it works. It was a taboo topic for us guys in sex ed which in hindsight is kinda stupid.”
“How to get rid of an erection. Why is this not day one teaching when the majority of penis owners at that age are suffering?”
