Now this is a slightly more pleasant case against marriage than our last post – according to the NewsHerald, a Florida man (oh hooray! The Floridian Freaks are out again!) is being charged with attempted murder and felony criminal mischief for driving through the wall of a Waffle House restaurant where his wife was working and attempting to run over her.

According to the police report, Patrick O’Bryan attempted to call his wife while she was working and she rebuffed him, after which he said he would “to run his truck through the building and kill everyone.”

His wife, Danielle Gibbons, must have been used to this kind of crazy talk, because she ignored the warning and went back to work. Moments later, O’Bryan crashed his ’84 Ford pickup truck through the glass and struck his wife, imparting non-life-threatening injuries that nonetheless sent his wife to the hospital. Witnesses say he then pulled out a knife at the scene, but was subdued by a man who picked up some glass from the scene.

Boy oh boy. Despite the fact that Patrick O’Bryan is obviously a psychotic nutjob with a vendetta against a delicious breakfast joint, I do have to wonder what that woman did to provoke such an attack. EGADS.

Reason #3,701 not to get married: Your husband might drive a pick up truck through your work and run you over. Talk about embarrassing!
