How Do I Become a More Confident Dater?
Occasionally, when doing routine OnlineBootyCall maintenance, we come across peoples’ profiles and see that they aren’t having very good luck with their game. They send out tons of messages but don’t get many responses, and seem to get frustrated that they aren’t rollin’ in the poon tang.
What is the main problem for less-than-successful singles? We think we know, and it’s one word: confidence. Being confident in your dating game, and with yourself as a whole, is fundamental, so we have a few tips to help shy/self-conscious/nervous daters up their game.
Embrace your flaws
The main reason people are less than confident is because they feel they’re “not good enough.” Maybe they don’t think they’re good looking enough or smart or funny enough, but whatever they feel they’re lacking makes them self-conscious and too nervous to make the first move. Just because you’re losing a little hair or have put on some winter weight doesn’t make you any less of a person – so OWN who you are and go for it! Get turned down? Guess what – there are millions more people in the world.
Know your value
Everyone has flaws, sure, but everyone also has something to offer! Are you a great tennis player? Do you pride yourself on your trivia skills? Do you totally kill it at karaoke? Show it off! Obviously, no one wants to hang out with a bragger, but demonstrating your value is a key to confident dating.
Learn from – but move on from – the past
Had a bad break up recently? So has just about everyone else in the world. Instead of wallowing in your sadness or fearing rejection, use what you learned in your last relationship to move forward! Whether you learned a bomb recipe for pad thai or how to give a great blow job or to never to date a girl who calls you “daddy” in bed, you didn’t come out of your relationship empty handed. Now move on!
Positive thinking: it’s not just for The Secret
“The universe works in positive ways” is often a thing people say who don’t want to work for anything, and instead assume they can THINK their way to success. This, obviously, isn’t the case. However, by keeping a positive attitude and seeing the good in unfortunate situations is a great way to keep your confidence up. Instead of calling a girl a bitch in your head for not going home with you, or getting down on your own pick-up skills, just think hey, maybe she didn’t feel a connection and move on.
