Hookers are Losing Their Jobs
Economics is a subject that I am almost completely ignorant of. I took a few classes in high school and college, but something about my left-brained self made me never really understand a second of it. I do know that currently in the world the state of the economy would be described as “bad” and that unemployment and gas prices and the housing situation is “not good,” but that’s about all I could tell you.
And then I just read over at The Daily Mail that EVEN PROSTITUTES CAN’T EARN A STEADY LIVING, SO WTF.
It’s the “world’s oldest profession,” but apparently hookers in the UK are having a hard time making a living due to increasing rent, energy prices, and a decrease in demand for their “services.”
Many parlors have been forced to lower prices or even close due to the economic slump, and many believe it is because men are strapped for cash because paying their own bills is more important than a squeezer. One prostitute in the south of England said she has to do upwards of nine “jobs” a day as opposed to years ago when she’d only do 2 or 3, because she’s had to lower prices demand drops.
We hope these ladies are able to stay afloat, but have to wonder, does the decrease in demand for paid sexual services have to do with peoples’ new openness to casual sex? Maybe folks aren’t going out and getting hookers because they have a steady booty call! What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
