I was planning on saving this for our #SOTS Thursday post, but I couldn’t help myself. R&B singer Frank Ocean, who recently came out as bisexual, had his first TV performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and it is heart-meltingly beautiful.

The song, called “Bad Religion,” mirrors the story that was supposed to be released in the liner notes of his new album, Channel Orange, but was instead leaked in a Tumblr post for the world to read last week. With the lyrics “I could never make him love me,” and “unrequited love,” it’s a beautiful, and yet tragic story of a guy who fell in love with another man for the first time, and the pain and heartbreak that can cause.

His voice, the pain in the story, and the Roots fantastic backup make for a wonderful song that I couldn’t hang on to ’till Thursday. Enjoy.
