Flying Car Might Finally Release!
If you had told me that it’d be 2011 and we still wouldn’t be living in floating glass bauble houses with robot maids, flying cars and brain internet, I’d have slapped you in your dumb face. And yet, fast forward through years of horrible haircuts and ugly outfits and HERE I AM, LIVING IN A WOODEN HOUSE ON THE GROUND AND DRIVING A PIECE OF GARBAGE WITH NO WINGS.
Needless to say, the Terrafugia Transition Flying car, which I excitedly described exactly one year ago, might even be CLOSER to release, as it was just reported that it received an exemption from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that will let the car-plane travel legally on the road, despite having both plastic windows and special tires that are not street-legal.
After five long years of fighting to get the flying car on the road (and in the air), Terrafugia might finally have taken the final step to getting us into the future we always imagined. They hope to ship their first vehicle at the end of 2012, which, coincidentally, is when the Mayans predicted the world would end. Hmmm.
