Floyd Mayweather Challenges Pacquiao Via Twitter
After November’s controversial match between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, boxing fans around the world called for a final fight between the Filipino superstar and Floyd Mayweather, the boxer most known for sucker punching Victor Ortiz last year, sucker punching his girlfriend all the time, and awkwardly swaying on Dancing With the Stars for 4 episodes. He took to Twitter to demand a fight between him and Pacquiao before he serves 90 days in jail (for the girlfriend-beating, BTW).
Apparently the last scheduled Mayweather – Pacquiao fight was cancelled due to Pacquiao’s coach Freddie Roach refusing the Olympic style drug tests demanded byMayweathers camp, so it’s understandable that there would be some tension between the two. So – will Pacquiao take the challenge? According to ABC, Pacquiao has agreed to fight – but not until the end of May. His team claims that the reason is a “bigger stadium” will be available at the end of May, one that will hold 45,000 people instead of the MGM Grand Garden Arena’s 16,000, meaning each boxer could earn up to $20 million more for the fight.
The question is, will Mayweather still be available to fight after May 5th? Or is he headed straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200? We’ll keep you updated as the story unfolds.
