Father of 30 Requests Break on Child Support
Talk about strong swimmers- according to TheHuffingtonPost, a man named Desmond Hatchett recently went to a judge to request a break on his child support payments. To 11 women. For 30 children. The Knoxville, Tennessee man claims he’s having trouble making ends meet from his minimum wage job, and wants the Tennessee courts to help him pay. Currently, Hatchett is forced to pay 50% of his earnings to the 11 women with whom he fathered his children, though some of them only collect a meager $1.49 a month.
Of course, it’s a teeny-tiny something to be proud of, that Hatchett is even making the effort to pay what he’s owed to his children. On the other hand, WHAT THE F***?! What is wrong with this guy? And what is wrong with the women that continually sleep with him without a condom? I’m not sure whether to blame the idiocy of every adult involved in this story, or the state of Tennessee for clearly not educating its citizens on basic family planning (and people wonder why organizations like Planned Parenthood need to exist).
While we’ve got to admit we’re impressed at this guys’ sexual appetite (he currently holds the Knoxville record for most children), we would like to pack up a box of a thousand of our OBC brand condoms for Mr. Hatchett to keep on him at all times. Or maybe Tennessee’s government should just pay to get him sterilized. It would probably pay for itself within a year.
