Do Men Secretly Like Cuddling?
That seems to be the idea that this Jezebel article is implying – it covers a scientific study on relationships, which looked to discover if men actually hate cuddling as much as they lead on. The study, which took place at the historic Kinsey institute in Indiana, analyzed 1009 couples and their happiness and sexual satisfaction.
They key here is to note that the couples they were studying had all been in relationships for over a year – some for as much as 50 years, with about half having been together for at least 25.
According to the study, as relationships progressed, women became more sexually satisfied, and men desired more kissing and cuddling. Jezebel claims that they “incorrectly predict[ed] men’s fondness for snuggling,” but we’re not sure that’s quite it. Perhaps it’s more that as men get older, more mature, and more comfortable with their mate, that they begin to see their sexual partner in more of a “best friend” or “companion” type of way, instead of as a sexual entity with whom they totally want to bone down. Or it could be that dudes in relationships for too long become totally pu**y-whipped.
Probably the latter.
