San Diego’s annual Comic Con is next weekend, the 150,000 person arts and culture convention which tears through our downtown district with a vengeance every July and makes parking, walking, and living barely possible. Worst of all, I think we’re all a little unprepared. Usually, the month before Comic Con everyone is like “oh god oh god oh god it’s almost here everyone get in the bomb shelter,” but it seems like this year we’re just pretending nothing is happening, like when a family fight breaks out at Thanksgiving.

Needless to say, I am partially excited to see the new movie trailers and celebrities and show panels and whatnot, starting with the one for next years Batman installment: The Dark Knight Rises. A poster was just released yesterday, and if graphics on a 500 X 600 black space are any hint as to the awesomeness of a movie, The Dark Knight Rises is going to be 120% AWESOME.
