When I was a kid, sometimes my dad would make fun of the music I would listen to, by imitating the crappy lyrics or dance moves that *N’sync the very cool bands would do in their music videos. It would INFURIATE me. He just DIDN’T understand that Justin and I would someday be married what good music was. He should just go back to listening to his crappy Neil Young and Elton John and the Beatles and leave me and my sweet, beautiful Justin music alone.

Watching this community college’s “Smoke-Free campus rap” video brings back those memories with a vengeance, because clearly these women don’t actually think they’re doing anything remotely close to a decent rap. However, the way that they imitate it, with their off-tempo rhymes and backwards hats, is probably just straight-up REPULSIVE to rap lovers. Like, HOW DARE THEY EVEN TRY, those community college swim team coaches. HOW DARE THEY.

It’s somehow much funnier now that it’s not Justin Timberlake, my future lover I am older and more mature.
