OkCupid has a great blog that consistently creates engaging statistic-based posts, analyzing online dating trends and profile performance, as well as sharing general info about the current state of the masses (i.e. their user base). The statistics are usually funny, interesting, and sometimes shocking.

This one, on the other hand, is just embarrassing. According to their poll, more than 10% of straight women think the EARTH is bigger than the SUN.

Ladies, can we talk? Look. We already, in general, have a smaller bone structure and less muscle mass than men, earn a lower average income and still, 2 centuries later, are grossly under-represented in all aspects of government. And now this?

Observe: the Sun is, in fact, over a HUNDRED times larger (by diameter) than the Earth. It is 332,946 times as massive, and 1.3 million times larger in terms of volume. Let me also remind you while we’re at it that the Earth rotates around the Sun, that Pluto is no longer a planet, and that no, you don’t poop babies.

Step it up,10%. You’re embarrassing the rest of us.
