25% of Singles Want to Join the Mile High Club
Another adult-themed site hosting a sex poll and then posting the results as the norm for the regular public? NO WAY!
BeNaughty.com (which I guess is a dating site? I can’t really tell?) released some poll results a couple days ago which implied that 24% of the public want to bang one out while in an airplane. Now, we’d all like that to be true (it would sure make my plane trips a whole less awkward), but BCU, of course, must take an academic stance and state that statistically speaking, you can not extrapolate the results from a website with “NAUGHTY” in the name to the general public.
From Sean Wood, the spokesman for Cupid Plc (the company that owns BeNaughty.com):
“We find it very encouraging that our members are so adventurous. This can only be a good thing for others looking to use internet dating. There is clearly a good balance of romance and naughtiness to be found across the variety of dating sites we have in our portfolio.”
Okay, but wasn’t the poll just on Be Naughty.com? The one with NAUGHTY in the name? It doesn’t say anywhere in the press release that they asked the members of their much more demurely named Cupid.com and Flirt.com.
We at BCU would love to see singles and couples get a little more adventurous with their sex lives, but we definitely believe that these sites need to be careful with their claims. Otherwise I might say “STATISTICS SHOW that 100% of singles are more interested in booty calls than long term relationships!”
If only…
