Michael Vick Redeems Himself (And More)
In general, I am repulsed by the word “EPIC.” Once only used by surfers describing their barrel-riding skills, it has become an overused, overplayed, meaningless term used on the internet to describe cats jumping in boxes and kids lighting themselves on fire. However, that being said, Vick’s performance last night was, in a word,
EPIC.
I’ll be honest, the only thing I really know about the guy is that he like, made dogs eat each other or something, and then went to jail, and then everyone was up in arms about him being allowed back in the NFL, but now, well, NOW I can see why. Michael Vick redeemed himself, in a monstrous way, in last night’s Monday Night Football game against the Redskins, where he broke records and showed that he is, everything people built him up to be. And more. According to GCobb,
The Eagles set a record on the first play of the game. They set a record at the end of the first quarter, Michael Vick broke records all night long. The offense was unstoppable and the defense scored just about as much as the Skins offense.”
After winning the game in an unheard of 59 – 28 (that’s a MNF record), every article about Vick this morning uses the term “perfect spiral,” and repeatedly mentions how he’s just as good as running the ball in for a touchdown as he is at throwing bombs. Needless to say, our expectations have been blown out of the water, and we look forward to watching the Eagles for the rest of the season. And I’ll try and forget about the whole, ridiculous display of animal cruelty thing.
