Hope you had fun on Halloween everyone, because starting now you’re gonna have to switch your inebriator of choice from alcohol to something less harmful… say, LSD perhaps?

That’s right — a new British report is stating that alcohol is actually a more dangerous drug than even heroin because of its social effects, including “environmental damage caused by the drug, its role in breaking up families, and its economic costs, such as health care, social services and prison.” Based on this criteria, alcohol was rated as the #1 most harmful drug, followed by heroine, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine.

Don’t worry though, the scientists don’t think we should outlaw alcohol forever and ever amen, and your nights at the club won’t be fueled by Slurpees and Mountain Dew anytime soon. The study continued to say that the best way to remedy the situation would be to concentrate on problem drinkers, not those who indulge in a drink or two (or seven, AM I RIGHT?!) on the weekends.

So basically this study is just telling us two things. One – alcohol is a silent murderer (or a belligerantly loud murderer if you’re my cousin Justin) and we need to cool it, and two – we should all start doing a ton of acid. Just kidding! Don’t do that!

Or do, I don’t care.
