Fall Dating Dos and Don’ts
Temps are still high in SoCal, but now that Labor Day has come and gone, Pumpkin Spice Lattes have hit Starbucks and Pinterest pages are abound with pie recipes and knit sweaters, it seems fall is nearly here. If you’re starting to dip your toe back into the dating pool after a summer of living it up single style, listen up to these dos and don’ts for fall dating.
DO – All the sports!
Whether its at an outdoor sports bar or watching from your hook up’s couch, October is the best month for sports. Not only has football started, but postseason baseball is also going down, which is (fact) the only time that baseball is ever exciting ever. Call up your SO, FWB, or BC (significant other, friend with benefits, or booty call, respectively) and enjoy a couple drinks while watching your favorite sports team either beat or get beaten to a pulp (hopefully the former or you might not get laid).
DON’T – GET TOO SAPPY
Sure it’s getting chilly out and sharing a cozy throw blanket while Netflix-n-chillin may sound appealing, but don’t get sucked into cuffing season. Stay with us at Club OBC, either on the desktop site or app, and enjoy the single life while you can!
DO – JACUZZI
FINALLY, it’s not so hot that even a night dip in the jacuzzi leaves you more light-headed than libidinous. It’s cold enough that the hot water and cool air feel amazing, but not cold enough that the water freezes to your skin when you get out and gives you a mad case of Raisinettes, if you know what I mean. Grab a bottle of wine and let the hot water warm your body and spark your sex drive! Note: do not attempt the porno-inspired jacuzzi sex. Chlorine, as a chemical, is as about as dry and abrasive as desert sand.
DON’T – FORGET ABOUT THE GYM
Just because you own that sweater and jacket combo that disguise your lumpy bits, does not mean we won’t notice it all spill forth like a tidal wave once the clothes come off. And if you’ve gained the quarantine 15, it’s probably about the time to put down the Pringles if you wanna be single. EESH. Running, hiking, biking, weights, whatever it is you do to keep fit – keep it going, all year long.
DO – ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS
However you decide to meet and/or date this year, enjoy the fall for what it is – a segue between two polar opposite dating seasons. Before you know it, it’s going to be winter, with its frozen wasteland of pasty skin, wet hair, seasonal affective disorder, and most likely, a new wave of COVID infections.
