Well, it’s over guys. We’re done. 110 minutes of hard play on Saturday morning and the US of A lost their chance at World Cup glory, as well as any chance of us caring about soccer again until 2014, when we’ll begrudgingly wear US flags and pretend to understand “offsides” if only to be allowed to drink beer at 10 in the morning.

Did you know that the World Cup keeps going even though we’re out? Crazy, right? But it’s true, the final game, one that will undoubtedly draw more viewers than any sports program ever,  goes down on July 11th, and on that day, most Americans will be too busy watching Judge Judy and eating Kix cereal out of a mixing bowl to care.

Anyway, good luck to all the countries still vying for the cup, and nice try, America. You did good. And don’t worry — come 2012 we’ll just win the Olympics, which is way cooler anyway.
