I generally express my distaste for turning sports stars into sex symbols. And not because I have any sort of moral compass, just because I feel that generally, men’s magazines use the magic of photoshop to turn a 6.5 to into some 10 point goddess. It’s not fair, you tricksters. However, I have to redact that statement after checking out some photos of this years Olympic hopefuls.

5. Irina Movchan

Although we’ll admit we only watch figure skating for the inevitable wipeouts followed by teary smiles, this gorgeous (and flexible!) Ukrainian may be giving us another reason to listen to brain-piercing ice dancing music.

4. Chemmy Alcott

That name brings to mind a withered Southern grandma, but lucky for us, Miss Alcott is actually a sexy British skiier, and one who we wouldn’t mind getting stuck on a ski-lift with, that’s for sure.

3. Torah Bright

This Kate Beckinsale look-a-like is an Australian snowboarder who can perform some of the hardest tricks around, land them perfectly, and then get dolled up for the red carpet with little to no effort.

2. Bree Scaaf

For the 2010 games, Bree switched from the skeleton to bobsled, which is like going from fighting a cobra to a rattlesnake. Basically, still freaking scary. We’re crossing our fingers that she doesn’t crash this year and ruin that perfect smile.

1. Lindsey Vonn

The only one of our ladies to strip down for this years Sports Illustrated, the two-time downhill World Champion has proven herself the ultimate Winter Olympics hottie, and with any luck, we’ll see her pose after the games with some gold medals, and if we’re lucky, nothing else.
