Last Sunday the new season of House of the Dragon premiered (we haven’t watched yet, so no spoilers!) but the most intriguing bit of info we’ve heard is regarding a scene that didn’t make it – a particularly sexy scene featuring the gorgeous Olivia Cooke. Via BuzzFeed:

As you’re probably aware, neither House of the Dragon nor Game of Thrones shy away from sex scenes — and given the latter’s reputation, Olivia admitted that when she first landed a role in House of the Dragon, she tried to mentally prepare herself for nudity. 

Olivia has worked closely with the show’s intimacy coordinator, Vanessa Coffey, over the years, and the star told Elle that she has been left pleasantly surprised with the scenes she has been dealt so far. 

“I thought there’d be way more, and so I’m relieved that when it has been used for me, it’s showing Alicent being pleasured, which is amazing and doesn’t feel gratuitous,” Olivia explained. “It feels like we’re telling a story.”

However, Olivia went on to reveal that one of her sex scenes did end up being considered gratuitous by showrunner Ryan Condal, which resulted in it being scrapped from the show entirely.

While Olivia didn’t detail who she filmed the scene with, she did say that it was “carnal” and “animalistic.”

“It was messy as fuck. It wasn’t beautiful, and that was really fun to do,” she said. “I think Ryan said we weren’t learning any more about the characters, which I disagree with slightly, but it’s okay. It’s his show.”

Damn, dude. Carnal. Animalistic. And “messy as fuck”. Ryan, what were you thinking?!
