New Coronavirus Dating Slang
Considering this pandemic has touched quite literally every aspect of our lives, we shouldn’t be surprised that there are new slang terms being added to our vernacular when it comes to dating in a pandemic.
Here are a few new phrases, via Fox News, that people are using to describe their COVID-Dating experiences.
“Zumping”: getting dumped over Zoom
“Corona-zoned”: when a physical relationship with someone is put off because one or both people don’t want to catch or spread the virus
“Lockblocking”: when you cancel or postpone a date if lockdown rules and restrictions ruin plans for a date
“On-nomi,” a Japanese expression for drinking together online
“FODA”: Fear of Dating Again
“Quarantionship”: a relationship that started during lockdown and developed virtually.
