Monday morning, while battling a Labor Day-sized hangover, a friend texted me to ask if I’d seen the “KABILLIONS OF CELEB NUDES THAT LEAKED?!?!” I hadn’t, but I did head over to Gawker to check out the news, because I mean, come on, duh. However, after reading the several tweets from hacked celebrities, saying how disgusted and violated they felt, I’ve so far decided not to post, discuss, or look at the photos of videos of what is being called “The Fappening” (ew).  I know this might sound hypocritical, since we posted photos of a few other celebs back when their nude scandals happened, but I feel like we’ve learned a lesson – that although they might seem like characters or goddesses that you’ll never meet, they’re still people with feelings and insecurities and, above all, the right to not have their private moments broadcast to the world.

So, we won’t be sharing the pics from the massive celeb nude scandal here on BCU. But we’d love to know your opinion. Some folks say they shouldn’t have taken the pictures in the first place. Others say hey, now that they’re up, why not look? We say, eh – out of principle let’s not contribute to the fame of a few fedora-wearing nerds who must have spent YEARS guessing the passwords of women who would never even give them a second glance, even if they WERE to leave their parents’ basement.
