Danish Voting Cartoon Rife With Sex and Violence – NSFW
Well, San Diego is on fire again, so we’re spending the day keeping our fingers crossed that the brave firefighters in our city can take down the NINE WILDFIRES that sprung up yesterday, charring over 9,000 acres and forcing over 20,000 people form their homes. Please keep our normally calm and laid back city in your thoughts today – we’d hate for a natural disaster to have to put a damper on our Mexican food eating and laying by the beach.
BACK TO WEIRD STUFF!
This video comes to us from Denmark, who we already know are down for funny, sexy videos that promote national welfare. This one, though, is a little different – it stars VOTEMAN, a cartoon superhero who wants young people to get out and vote by chopping off offenders’ heads – just not when he’s busy engaging in BJ-filled orgies, of course. Although we found it hilarious, and a great way to involve young adults in the national discussion, apparently the public was NOT PLEASED, leading to the video being taken down and an apology issued.
Via CNN:
Mogens Lykketoft, speaker of the Danish Parliament, said in a statement on his Facebook page that many people had perceived the cartoon as “more serious and offensive than it was intended, and see it as talking down to the youth.
“Reaction in social media is sharply divided between those who see this as unacceptably vulgar, and those who think it is tough but acceptable humor which brings attention to the vote on May 25.
“The latter was the intention. But I acknowledge that Parliament, as an institution, in future has to show more caution in what we put our name to.”
Well, Danes, we thought you were better than that. I mean, if your GOVERNMENT BODY can put out videos like this and think they are hilarious, then WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM? We pictured your whole country as a bunch of gorgeous women, giant-penis-having men, and a whole lot of sex. But apparently you can be just as prudey as us. GET IT TOGETHER, GUYS.
