Happy Friday! We’re pretty excited for this work week to be over, especially because it’s 80 degrees and sunny in San Diego (sorry, everywhere else in the country) and the beach is calling our names. However, we suddenly feel like something is missing from our weekend – specifically that we don’t have something roaming the streets called THE HOOK UP TRUCK.

San Francisco does, though. Via CBS Local:

 The Hook-Up truck – a conceptual “art” installation consisting of a box truck converted to a sex suite on wheels, including temperature controls, birth control, safe sex accouterments, and a camera option, in case you and yours decide to make the escapade a YouTube sensation, is finally open for service the weekend of May 2nd and 3rd.

Created by artist Spy Emerson, The Hook Up truck will be treated like a mobile hotel room, and will be available for short-term rentals through out the weekend… sort of like a middle-class version of that booty plane. As Emerson describes it, The Hook Up truck is “a game for adults who want to play with sex.” Sounds like fun… I think?

I’m not sure how I feel about getting NAKED in the back of a BOX TRUCK driven by STRANGERS (strangers who look like that photo above, btw), but we imagine there will be some San Franciscans and Oakland…ites(?) getting down and dirty this weekend when it pops up in the Mission District and Uptown Oakland. If that’s you – TRY IT FOR US, WILL YA?
