Avril Lavigne’s New Video Might Be the Worst One Yet
Oh, Avril.
I’m pretty sure that when the 28-year-old Canadian made her first single, Complicated, she didn’t know what a joke she’d be to the majority of America. People laughed at her pseudo-punk attire and attempts at looking “tough.” Then she came out with Sk8r Boi, and it was over. Any punk cred she had disintegrated like the elastic on a decade-old pair of Hanes. Over time, though, she must have accepted that no one believed she was punk, and released a few ballads that weren’t all that horribly miserable, honestly.
Then, early this year, she married another universally-despised Canadian musician, Chad Kroeger, of Nickleback, and it seemed as if bad music finally had their King and Queen, and we all hoped maybe they’d disappear into the Canadian wilderness or something.
But Avril wasn’t done. She released this video for her new song, “Rock and Roll” yesterday, and it is, um…
you know what, just watch it. There are no words that can explain.
(oh, psst – hang in there for a bit and spot the kiss between Avril and Wonder Years star Danica McKellar. It’s pretty hot.)
