Is It The End of Young Marriages?
It’s no surprise to you that we at OBC believe in waiting for marriage – or heck, not getting married at all. However, we know that the marriage tradition will probably live on for quite some time, at least until people realize they can throw themselves a bad-ass party without having to contractually chain yourself to another human being for the rest of your life.
ANYWAY, new research has arisen that shows more people are joining #TeamMarriageCanWait! According to a study shared by The Independent, while a third of couples in their sixties are each others’ high school sweethearts, only 14% of couples aged 40 – 50 are with the first person they fell for.
According to the study,
Research suggests that enduring childhood sweethearts are becoming an endangered species, as young people have more relationships and delay getting married and settling down – giving them greater opportunity to meet potential partners. Greater levels of geographic mobility and job changes have also contributed to relationships being less likely to endure.
“Greater levels of geographic mobility”? We’re pretty sure that’s due to technological advances and societal norms changing, or in other words, THE FUTURE IS HERE, HONEY, YOU BEST GET ON BOARD.
We hope this trend continues, and remind people that OnlineBootyCall is the best place to find likeminded singles who are down to hook up but aren’t necessarily looking for The One (although so many end up finding them)!
