Comic Con is in full swing in San Diego, which means the streets are crawling with nerds fans wearing costumes worth more than my rent. 125,000 people are expected to attend the massive convention where stars and fans alike go to check out screenings of new movies, watch panels, and buy exclusive (re: expensive as all hell) gear from their favorite comic books, TV shows, and video games.

This, however, is NOT what I was expecting:

Yep, you saw right. At one booth in the con, you can purchase cute little plushy toys in the shape of diseases. FUN! A little search showed that the company behind the strange toys is GIANTmicrobes, and they sell all sorts of diseases, venereal included.

I guess if you have to pick up chlamydia, AIDS, and herpes at the same time, they might as well be cuddly? I don’t know.
