One time I was on a road trip to Vegas with some friends when we stopped at a truck stop (for Red Bull, because it’s not a Vegas trip unless you arrive feeling like your heart’s going to explode), where I noticed a plethora of “testosterone enhancing” pills across the check out counter. Each packet was like, 3 bucks, so I dared a friend to take one of each and see what happened. He bought 6 packets and downed them with a Red Bull (do not try this at home).

And then we waited…

… and nothing happened.

Well, no, he DID say he got a boner as we pulled onto the strip, but I’m pretty sure that’s just the body’s natural reaction to arriving in the City of Sin. Needless to say, we all decided at that moment that sex-enhancing “male supplements” were a bullshit waste of money and thought “lesson learned.”

However, a news report from Fox News is claiming that there might actually be traces of Viagra ingredients in some herbal supplements! According to Neil Campbell, a researcher at Pfizer, a study on OTC herbal pills found some “pretty scary stuff.”

[They] sent undercover consumers into convenience stores and gas stations in the Atlanta and Baltimore areas, and bought products such as Rize 2 The Occasion, Stiff 4 Hours, and Man King.
Although 57 of the products claimed to be “all natural,” 81 percent of them contained the tadalafil or sildenafil (marketed as Cialis and Viagra, respectively) or similar ingredients that are not approved by the FDA.

YIIIIIKES. The worst part of this, obviously, is that Cialis and Viagra are serious medications which affect cardiovascular health and should only be prescribed by a doctor. But on the other hand, I wanna know how a company like “STIFF 4 HOURS” is getting a hold of the ingredients in The Almighty Little Blue Pill!

I’ve always assumed those pills were produced in the basement of Dairy Queens… but now I wonder if they’re just a side project of a janitor at Pfizer. Stealing boner ingredients and re-marketing them as herbal supplements – it’s a thriller movie just WAITING to be made!
