Top 5 Workouts For Singles
For part 3 of our series on SINGLES GETTIN’ FIT, we figured it would be a good idea to get you moving. As in, off the couch. As in, seriously, get off the couch, you’ve seen that episode of Entourage like 12 times already. However, just going to the gym is boring and tedious and confusing, so why not try something new this year on your mission to getting healthy, fit, and sexy for summer?
Here are some of our favorite ways to slim down, bulk up, and gain supreme attractiveness!
1. Yoga
Yoga gained popularity years ago when celebs like Madonna and Jennifer Aniston began touting its awesome body-shaping benefits. However, many people see it as a slow and boring (and maybe even creepy) ritual of stretching and humming and getting high on incense. That’s not the case, though! Every day, new forms of yoga are emerging that make it less of a bore and more of a high-intensity fat burner. Look for classes called “vinyasa,” “flow,” or “heated” to get the best workout. Plus, guys – there is no shortage of hotties inn lululemon – something no one can deny is a benefit. Try a week of free CorePower yoga and see why the yoga fad has yet to die out.
2. Swimming
As the weather heats up, getting in the pool will sound like a godsend. But instead of just wading around or laying out checking your Instagram, use the pool for its original intention: swimming laps and gaining strength and a fantastic shape. Just look at Michael Phelps – the guy eats his weight in food every day but still looks like he just fell out of the movie 300. Seeing yourself in a bathing suit every day, too, is a great inspiration to get your heart rate up and muscles working.
3. Running
Yes, I know, UGH GROSS NO THANK YOU. We always suggest to at least give running a try, a mile a day and then working your way up to maybe someday running a marathon! Pop your earbuds in, jam out to some Jay-Z, and get out there for a few minutes in the morning or late evening and you’ll feel great afterwards. The best part? It’s cheap – buy yourself a pair of running shoes and you won’t need any other equipment. Then when you run your first 5K, scope out the hotties at the starting line – there will be tons of ’em. Check out the downloadable Couch to 5k program to ease yourself into being a speed demon.
4. Online circuit videos
Seriously short on cash or time? It’s still no excuse – with hundreds of thousands of workout videos on YouTube – most under 15 minutes long, you can stick a short workout just about anywhere in your day. Check out BodyRock.TV for hundreds of short circuit videos that blast fat and help turn you from a TV-watching schlub to a rock-hard bombshell.
5. The ol’ standby: the gym
If you have a gym in your neighborhood with affordable prices, sometimes it’s worth it to actually get yourself in a multi-purpose facility. With weights, machines, and sometime even group classes, you can get a full body workout and will feel motivated by the plethora of sweaty bodies surrounding you. If you need a quick, easy, and effective plan, we suggest starting with a StrongLifts program. Using minimal equipment, you’ll see results within just a few weeks.
