THE OSCARS RECAP
The 85th annual Academy Awards were last night, and, um – they happened! People wore things! And won awards! And some didn’t win awards! And some used crutches in a way that screamed “PITY PARTY!”
In case you missed them, though, because you were busy doing other things like making a homemade dinner and listening to classical music or cramming Cheetos in your mouth and watching Bob’s Burgers, here are the top 5 moments from the 84th annual Academy Awards.
5. People debated about whether 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis’ nominee dance (which was the signature move from the movie she starred in [which, AGAIN, is GREAT]) was “classy” or not. Debating about the classiness of a child on the internet: super, super classy. Also, one Oscar voter said he wouldn’t vote for her because he “can’t pronounce her name”, so that’s cool.
4. Chronic over-sharer Anne Hathaway took home the Best Supporting Actress award, while wearing a dress with what appeared to be sewn-in nipples.
3. Host Seth MacFarlane (the Family Guy creator and known-boundary pusher) made some jokes last night that made some people feel uncomfortable. SHOCKER
2. First Lady Michelle Obama presented the best picture award to Argo, looking GORGEOUS. Also at the link, the list of the other winners in case you care about that minor detail.
1. JENNIFER LAWRENCE. JENNIFER LAWRENCE. JENNIFER LAWRENCE. JENNIFER LAWRENCE. JENNIFER LAWRENCE.
