This Tuesday might be the most important in the last four years, but every Tuesday for the past year and three months has been important to us at OBC because we’ve gotten to share our favorite testimonials from members who are leaving the site because their booty call became a monogamous relationship. Although we shed a little tear at their departure, it’s bittersweet, since they’re leaving because they have found that special someone right here on our site!

When we started sharing weekly testimonials, way back in August of 2011, we thought they’d all be stories of steamy hook ups and casual dating adventures, but were surprised to learn that they actually tended to be tales of unexpected romance! We were shocked, but the more we thought about it, the more it made sense… Instead of desperately hunting for the love of your life on a traditional dating site (alongside millions of other desperate hunters), OnlineBootyCall members took a more laid-back approach – looking only for fun, casual dating and hook ups. Their expectations were lower, they were more likely to show “the real them,” and probably felt less need to play games or follow old-school dating rules – creating the perfect scenario for real, honest relationships to be formed.

Since then, we’ve seen hundreds (literally!) of members couple up for real, including a few that have become honest-to-goodness husband and wife! For a website that has always said “MARRIAGE CAN WAIT!” seeing a relationship go in that direction is kinda crazy, but we love it just as much as the testimonials from people who are just happy to have found a kinky partner in crime.

And hey, we don’t deny it – our main goal is still to help singles find dates without promising “forever,” but we are proud as could be that a big percentage of those dates ended not with a one-night stand, but instead with two people who genuinely enjoy each others’ company (both in bed and out) and a decision to go steady!

We hope that people continue to look past the original facade of OBC and realize that there is no formula for the perfect relationship. Instead, it’s possible to find healthy, happy, fulfilling relationships just about anywhere… and OBC should be the first place you look ;).
