Last month, we were a little more than shocked that 19-year-old Miley Cyrus had gotten engaged to her Hunger Games star boyfriend, 22-year-old Liam Hemsworth. While I understand why celebs would avoid reading tabloids and celebrity gossip, they have to know the insane rate at which Hollywood marriages fail, right? And yet, “they somehow delude themselves into thinking it might work for them.”

Still, Miley Cyrus is a little girl. Today’s news that our favorite Columbian bombshell Sofia Vergara has gotten engaged inspires far more head scratches (and depressed tears). According to UsWeekly, Sofia Vergara’s on-again, off-again beau Nick Loeb proposed while on vacation in Mexico this past week. The couple and many of Sofia’s friends and family were vacationing in the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza when Loeb popped the question.

Sofia’s friend, Fernando Fiore, reportedly Tweeted a photo of himself with Sofia and what appears to be a massive engagement ring on her finger, and thus, the rumors began.

A source claims that Sofia and Nick (a Florida politician), “have a crazy relationship… They break up and make up. They fight and make up hard!”

Sounds like the perfect recipe for a legally binding relationship, wouldn’t you say?
