Miami Heat Wins the NBA Finals
After 5 games, Lebron has done it again, and the Heat have their second NBA title! The Miami team, lead by Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade, ended the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 121 – 106 win last night at American Airlines Arena.
Unlike the Heat, who spent the seconds following the win in a team embrace, probably discussing with how many strippers and at what South Beach nightclub they should spend the night partying, OKC’s big players, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, likely curled up in the fetal position, trying to figure out how their underdog team went from a non-stop win machine in the the playoffs to… well, whatever they’ve been the last 5 games.
As for the basketball terminology mumbo-jumbo, I’ll let the LA Times explain:
James continually attacked the basket from the opening tip and was excellent in every facet, collecting a triple-double with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds to lead six Heat players in double figures scoring. Bosh had 24 points and Wade 20.
Miami got it done with the Big Three and with the little ones, making 14 of 26 three-pointers. Reserve guard Mike Miller was a stunningly effective sharpshooter, making seven of eight shots from beyond the arc.
The veteran guard finished with 23 points, nearly tripling his combined eight points from four previous Finals games in which he was a nonfactor. He opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to extend Miami’s cushion to 27 points.
Congrats to Lebron and the Miami Heat… and my apologies to all the sports fans out there who now have nothing to live for until August, when football finally starts up again. YOU CAN DO IT, GUYS. GO OUTSIDE. IT’S REALLY NICE OUT.
