It’s gotta be a crappy day for 41 year old Matthew Roberts, who discovered recently on his hunt for his birth parents that his real father is infamous serial murderer and cult leader Charles Manson.

News.com.au reported that even though his adoptive parents warned him against it, Roberts hired an attorney to seek out his real parents. Though shocked and appalled after learning his father was Charles Manson, apparently that wasn’t enough. Roberts has been exchanging mail with the imprisoned Manson, and is considering meeting with him face-to-face. He says while the two look alike, that’s not where the similarities between he and his father end.

“I’m not nuts but I’ve got a little bit of it,” Roberts says. “If I get worked up my eyes get really big and that’s freaked some people out before.”

Hey, Matt. I think it would be in your best interest NOT to compare yourself to a psychotic homicidal maniac. Just a thought.
